MDO is a premium, unfinished paint grade MDO overlay on plywood with Douglas Fir/Hemlock construction.
It is produced with a two-step® layup, has a waterproof glue bond and meets APA PS 1-09 specifications.
MDO is available with one or two working faces. Panels with a single working face are standard without a backer.
The working face consists of kraft brown, resin impregnated MDO overlay.
MDO plywood provides a superior surface for finishing.
MDO plywood offers a lot of benefits as a painting substrate. It has a smooth surface, treated to extend its life outdoors and provide enhanced durability.
MDO is also structurally classified as an exterior plywood and is suitable for both exterior and interior use.
MDO is not a finished product. It requires priming, two topcoats and two edge coats for prolonged exposure in exterior applications.
Edges are factory sawn without edge treatment. Fill, prime and topcoat all exposed wood with at least two coats of acrylic, polyurethane or polyurethane-acrylic.
This MDO panel is made in the USA.
