Description BC Sanded Plywood is a structural wood panel composed of a B-grade face, C-grade back, and C-grade inner plies cross-banded for strength. The face is fully repaired and sanded smooth. (Unlimited # of wood and/or synthetic repairs are allowed, some rough grain and sander skips are allowed.) It is designated as Exterior durability indicating it is bonded with an exterior resin and is designed for applications subject to permanent exposure to weather or moisture. It is a Group 1 species, which indicates it is classed among the strongest and stiffest.
Certification ¼", 11/32", 15/32", 19/32", and 23/32" panels are certified by APA - The Engineered Wood Association - and are in compliance with APA Performance Rated Panels, PS 1-07. An APA stamp confirming compliance appears on each panel. It also meets PS 1-07 requirements for Underlayment.
Fire Rating Plywood 3/8" and thicker has been generically recognized as having a Class C (III) flame-spread rating without need for test or label according to HUD/FHA Manual of Acceptable Practices, Section 405-8 to the Minimum Property Standards, Interpretive Bulletin C-1-76 to the HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards.
Applications BC Sanded is a utility panel commonly used for agricultural service, for work buildings and for containers, or as a base for exterior coatings and other exterior uses. Sanded plywood finds numerous uses in both residential and nonresidential construction, and for both new construction and remodeling projects. Typical construction applications include soffits, stair treads and risers, cabinets and built-ins, shelving, paneling, and accent panels.
